Hi, Tomorrow we are re-opening the Pro $200 subscriptions to new subscribers, but together with it we are also changing how we calculate the usage for it. In effect, if you do the math, it will net out at half the dollar in API spend compared to the old Pro $200 plan. Now that it's said, let me explain why this is happening and why you will still get more work done than if you were on the Pro $200 subscription one month ago. (a) We didn't want to compromise in other ways and are committing to not reintroducing the 5h limit, so that you can fully use the weekly usage when you want. (b) On the subscription, we guarantee that over time you always get more work done and with an increasing level of quality. This means that you will continue to get more value per dollar spent as a result of models getting more efficient and us passing down the improvements in the form of API price reductions. (c) We don't want to put an incentive on ourselves to artificially inflate the API list prices to make it look like you are getting a lot (and workaround it through discounts, etc). Instead we want to continue to both rapidly reduce prices and increase capabilities of models on the API. This week we introduced GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna at 50% of their previous price. We recently had a user whose account was compromised. Our customer service team identified the situation quickly and froze the account. We then worked with the user to restore their original email and authenticator, helping secure the account and prevent further risk. Unfortunately, an API key that remained on the account allowed the attacker to transfer the funds before the issue could be fully contained. We are still investigating exactly what happened. But one thing is clear to us: we do not believe the user should have to bear the consequences of this incident. We immediately put together a dedicated team to handle the case, and we have fully compensated the user. We have always believed that being user-first means more than just saying it. Feeling the AGI/ASI, few observations 1. Opus 5.5 really gives strong vibes of AGI (maybe not fully there, but we're very close, like 80%-90%). For example, few breakthoughs in training humanoids are needed. We need to move this intelligence into physical world. 2. I don't think Anthropic has discovered any magical formula. 3. Which means, SpaceXAI, Google, and others will soon follow. This prediction is based on the amount of compute they already have + additional compute being added all the time. 4. Never was more confident that Anthropic, SpaceXAI, Google, OpenAI, likely Meta, basically all big US AGI labs will have proper AGI in 2027. 5. And from there we'll move quickly to ASI territory (likely also in 2027). It looks like few GW of compute are enough for strong AGI, now imagine what we will able to do with 10-20GW of compute which are rapidly coming online. And then with 100GW-200GW... 2027 will be an utterly insane year.
