Square Enix has quietly removed the free demo versions of several Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX titles from the U.S. Nintendo Switch eShop without any official explanation. The removed demos are: -KINGDOM HEARTS - HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX - Cloud Version -KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue - Cloud Version -KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind The full paid cloud versions remain available for purchase on the U.S. eShop. However, the demos are still available in other regions, including parts of Europe and the UK. Neither Square Enix nor Nintendo has commented on the removals. Warhorse Studios, developer of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, has confirmed that the next game in the Kingdom Come series will be a full open-world RPG. Warhorse PR manager Tobias Stolz-Zwilling said the studio is currently working on two open-world RPGs, one in the Kingdom Come world and another set in Middle-earth. The new game is expected to release between April 2027 and March 2028, based on Embracer Group’s current schedule. Warhorse has not called the game “Kingdom Come: Deliverance III,” leading many fans to think it could be a new story with different characters instead of a direct sequel. “We have two open-world RPGs in development,” Reports also say that developer Prokop Jirsa will help lead the future of the Kingdom Come franchise, while Viktor Bocan is working on the studio’s new Lord of the Rings RPG.

Daniel Vávra, the creator of Kingdom Come: Deliverance and head of Warhorse Studios mocked Ubisoft after the company’s latest layoffs and financial results. He pointed out that Ubisoft still has around 16,600 employees, while Warhorse Studios has about 250. According to him, that means Ubisoft’s workforce is equal to roughly 70 studios the size of Warhorse. “Ubisoft has 16 600 employees after layoffs. Ooops. Thats about 70 Warhorse sized studios. That could be 10 KCD2 sized games, each developed for 7 years, released every year!”
