The area is dotted with historic spots, such as the site where legend says the Buddhist monk Nichiren washed his feet, as well as the grave of Katsu Kaishu. It’s a wonderful place to relax, whether you're interested in renting a boat or simply enjoying the seasonal nature around the pond. I often go for walks there on weekends with my wife and my two-year-old son. The photo I’ve attached was taken during a recent visit. I was trying to frame the shot with an extreme crop, inspired by the ukiyo-e woodblock prints of Hiroshige Utagawa, but... well, it’s harder than it looks!
