Here is my AI investing guide. Sitting here August 2026, my current best thoughts are as follows: 1. LPS (Land Power Shell) is still the most obvious and fastest path to cash on cash returns. Lots of value can be assembled and traded quickly at this layer. And as data centers get more pushback, energized land can explode in value. Very bullish here. Silicon - I helped get @GroqInc off the ground in 2015 and we licensed it to @nvidia for $20B Dec2025. I won’t invest or incubate anything in this layer now. The perf demands of the chips are too high, manufacturing precision is too complex and supply chain influence to get adjacent components like memory isn’t possible for a startup anymore. Lots of capital will be wasted here chasing Groq and Cerebras’ success. Note that both startups made sense a decade ago when these constraints were much more modest. 3. Clouds - Clouds are very very lucrative but very hard to build and very expensive and technically complicated to maintain. And as alignment becomes a more important issue, I expect the clouds will be asked to build robust KYC and attest to it. This makes the risk:reward ratio skewed. I don’t want to be responsible when the USG says a cloud allowed a bad actor to do something bad because of poor KYC. 4. Models are complicated. The big open question is how much of the revenue being generated by them today is because of tokenmaxxing and poor model behavior. If it’s a lot, then the annualized revenues will diminish meaningfully even as token consumption inflects upwards. This is the big economic question at this layer. 5. Harnesses are where the action is and why I started @8090solutions two years ago. In a nutshell, the harness helps enterprises owns their proprietary context (what Alex Karp calls their ‘alpha’). This is an enterprise’s data, workflows, evals, and business rules. A harness that gives this to an enterprise is what creates very low model-agnostic switching costs, which further reinforces my views of #4# above. 6. Applications will be another long term winner along with harnesses. This is where the differentiation between “off the shelf” and “custom time and materials” melts away. Every company, with the right harness, can now imbue their alpha into the software that runs their company. I expect this to mean that “off the shelf” is largely replaced with custom software creating a huge opportunity to write these solutions for companies. Build once and sell repeatedly is a laggard GTM motion for a SaaS world that isn’t needed here. Think custom by design, alpha embedded, proprietary by nature. Fin. Good luck to all the players!

Two systems meet in the middle of it: Agent Passport issues the agent a verifiable identity and a spending authority its owner defines, and RoboPay actuates a robot after the payment behind the request checks out. What happens before the robot moves: ▷ Authority is granted once, and it is bounded. The human signs a spending session with a passkey: a total budget, a per-transaction ceiling, the assets allowed, and an expiry. The agent holds no card number and no wallet key. It holds a delegation it cannot exceed. ▷ Two payments, because these are two different obligations. One settles with the merchant for the goods. A separate x402 payment pays the robot for the work of moving them. Buying a thing and hiring a machine to carry it are not the same transaction, and the receipt keeps them apart. ▷ Verification comes before motion. The request arrives with an x402 payment header. The facilitator checks the network, the price, the payee wallet, and the signed payload. Only then are the transaction details sealed onto the robot action event and the command published. Until that clears, the robot sits still. ▷ Every step leaves a receipt. Identity, scope, approval, both payments, verification, dispatch. When you need to know why a machine did something, the answer is a record rather than a guess. (This run was executed in a demo environment.) Agents have been paying for software for a while now. Paying for physical work is a harder problem, because a delivery cannot be rolled back. The guarantee has to sit in front of the action instead of behind it. About 4 months ago, I received a ban from SeaOfThieves on an alt account due to my username (RealDrewStevens) with a ban reason of “Rare Staff Impersonation” which I take full accountability for being in the wrong here. At the time I sent in a ticket on my main account asking for clarification on the ban. After a few weeks of contacting support and attempting to reach out to anyone who could assist me, my resolution was the support team telling me there was “no enforcement action against your Xbox Live account.” They also then told me “purchasing a new license for Sea of Thieves through the Microsoft Store / Game Pass subscription / Steam or and linking your Xbox Live account to that new game license should resolve your issue.” Since then, they have gone back on this statement and last night I found out they banned my main account. In a Sea of Thieves Developer Update, @S0nicBob stated “On reflection, we feel we can create a more fair and transparent approach to enforcement, that gives players some breathing room when mistakes are made but most crucially, gives them a chance to be able to learn from those mistakes” in regards to the new points system they were implementing. So what’s the deal with this? Because right now, the actions of the support team directly contradict the public statement that was put out. I did everything "right" here. I opened a ticket instead of going straight to twitter; I kept my patience with the support team; I didn't ban evade until the support team responded and told me to do so. And now, months later, with zero new incidents and zero further communication, my main account, the one the support team confirmed had "no enforcement action" against it, is banned. Where's the "breathing room" in that? Where's the "chance to learn from mistakes" when the current mistake in question was following the support team's own advice? This new policy is just as vague and hard to interpret as the old policy. I have the ticket. I have the exact wording support used. I have a timeline that shows I acted in good faith at every single step (after the original incident of course which I again take full accountability for), only to have the rug pulled out from under me with no explanation, no warning, and no updates to tell me why the goalposts moved. Let me give a couple examples of the inconsistencies here. The gamertag “Official SOT” can receive a 3 point ban (permanent until name change). A tweet can receive a 3 point ban for “Rare Staff Impersonation” (3 days). So then why is my “Rare Staff Impersonation” ban any different? I don’t want special treatment. I want support to actually hold itself to the standards they presented to the entire community. Either Drew’s statement meant something or it didn't and right now, my account says it didn't. @RareLtd @SeaOfThieves @SoT_Support @MicrosoftHelps: I'd appreciate an actual response this time instead of a copy-paste closure. Currently that is all I am able to get out of the lowest level of the support team with no way of escalation.
