Pompliano says this is one of the "best bear markets" because $BTC is hitting bottom signals without the 80% drawdowns of past cycles. 📉 "The percent of #Bitcoin# that is held that is underwater is now larger than the percent of Bitcoin that is held that is in profit." 💬

The swapper you just acquired has no reason to come back. The "loyal" LP whose funds never move? Probably just too underwater to exit. Both are retention failures. Neither shows on your DAU chart. So what is that chart actually measuring? 🧵

🚨 CHINA IS PUTTING DATA CENTERS ON THE OCEAN FLOOR AND LETTING THE SEA COOL THEM. Instead of building massive air-conditioned buildings on land, China is submerging sealed server modules on the seabed. The ocean itself acts as a giant natural cooling system. This dramatically cuts energy use, water consumption, and land requirements for power-hungry AI data centers. Why this matters: • Seawater provides free passive cooling no giant chillers or evaporative systems needed • Combined with offshore wind power, many of these facilities run on mostly renewable energy • Projects like the one off Shanghai (Hailanyun/HiCloud) are already operational with hundreds of server racks • Early results show 30–90% lower cooling energy demand compared to traditional data centers The deeper implication is huge: As AI drives explosive growth in computing power, traditional data centers are becoming unsustainable due to electricity and water demands. Underwater data centers offer a clever way to scale AI infrastructure while reducing environmental strain on land. This could become a major trend turning the ocean into the new frontier for the data centers powering tomorrow’s AI. What do you think smart innovation or risky for marine ecosystems? Follow for more frontier technology and future infrastructure.

This kid didn't see it until he dove underwater right as a manatee was swimming up to them. Dad saw it at the last minute and clearly knew what it was and not to panic. Looks like he did a great job at calming the kids down and fully appreciating the moment.

China has launched the world’s first commercial underwater data center powered by offshore wind near Shanghai’s Lingang area. This 24-megawatt facility is now fully operational with nearly 2,000 servers for AI tasks, big data, 5G networks, self-driving cars, and smart robots. The sealed units sit about 10 meters underwater and 10 kilometers offshore next to a large wind farm. More than 95% of the power comes directly from the wind turbines via special cables that reduce power loss, while seawater cools the servers naturally through heat exchangers. This eliminates the need for large cooling systems or fresh water, giving it an energy efficiency rating of about 1.15 compared to 1.5 to 2.0 for typical land data centers. The project progressed rapidly: the deal was signed in June 2025, construction ended by October 2025, tests ran in February 2026, and full service started in mid-May 2026, at a total cost of about 1.6 billion yuan. This solves two major data center problems : high electricity use from AI and heavy water consumption for cooling by combining clean wind power with the sea’s natural cooling.

Subnautica 2 devs say "go play Sons of the Forest" if you don't like its lack of violence. The game focuses on underwater exploration, and you cannot kill most creatures. On the official Discord, one player asked why killing is impossible in SN2 as it makes no sense. Level designer Artyom O’Rielly replied, “This is not a killing game, so go play Sons of the Forest if you want to kill.” Another developer said, “The team discusses this a lot inside the studio and may let players catch small fish for food, but large creatures will stay safe so the game feels right.” This idea comes from the first Subnautica, as the team wants players to discover things, feel wonder, and live with ocean life instead of fighting it. A fan-made mod already lets players kill creatures, and the studio is reading all feedback. It plans to add better ways to scare off creatures but will not add weapons. Early access is expected to last up to 3 years.

Subnautica 2 launched into Early Access on Steam today and reached a peak of 457,897 concurrent players within the first hour. The underwater survival sequel from Unknown Worlds adds up to 4-player co-op and cross-play support. It launched with more than 5 million wishlists on the platform. The game is a major hit. Congrats to the devs
