Did you know Dropbox reportedly grew its beta waitlist from around 5,000 to 75,000 people in a single day after releasing a simple product demo video? 🤯 The product was not fully built yet and instead of waiting until every feature was finished, the founders showed people what using Dropbox would actually feel like. The demo showed people how their files would stay in sync across different computers without the usual hassle 👏 For founders, it is natural to feel a finished product will convince people to buy. So you keep building while customers are still struggling to understand why they should care. Customers buy when they understand the problem being solved, value the outcome being promised, and see why your solution is worth choosing. 💡 Before building endlessly in stealth mode, ask yourself: → Can my ideal customer explain what this product does in one sentence? → Do they immediately understand the problem it solves? → Can they picture how their life or work improves after using it? If the answer is no, spend time improving the explanation before improving the product. Clear communication often creates more buying momentum than a perfectly finished product your customers never asked for.
