From @TheAthletic: Stephen Curry wanted LeBron James to come to the Warriors. He thought Golden State had a chance. “That’s why you don’t envision anything until it happens,” Curry said about James picking the Philadelphia 76ers.
Some rival executives think that Stephen Curry should NOT sign an extension with the Golden State Warriors when he becomes eligible on August 29th due to their 'lack of urgency to compete for another championship'.
If Curry chooses NOT to extend with Golden State, he will become an unrestricted free agent in 2027, opening up his possibilities of competing for a title for another franchise 🏆

Once it became clear that wouldn’t happen, Curry quickly returned to the truth of his situation, one he’d already grappled with months ago.
The disappointment of missing out on yet another difference-making addition, something to get the Warriors out of the Play-In purgatory they’ve been in the last four years, had already morphed into acceptance.
