It's been a rough year, but I am still here! I was laid off from my job over a year ago. They moved my operation center to India and I haven't been able to find a job since. In my last attempt, I went through 3 rounds of interviews for a Systems Engineer position. The recruiter informed me I was the best candidate by far. 2 weeks and some days after the third interview I was told I didn't get the position. And that was just this week. At this moment is when I have decided that I need to pursue something I am passionate about. I want to create my own animation studio. I have written several short stories that I want to bring to life and some music videos I'd need to purchase rights to, to use the music for, but I need help! Did you move back in with family during the 2020 pandemic? Did someone you know pack their car, break their lease, and drive home to a parent's spare bedroom? Here is what almost nobody realized at the time: under the federal government's own definition, losing your housing and doubling up with relatives due to economic hardship counts as homelessness. Not metaphorically. By definition. In July 2020, 52 percent of young American adults were living with their parents, a higher share than during the Great Depression. Millions of people experienced homelessness that year and never had to wear the label, because the Bank of Mom and Dad kept it off their record. Many of them went right back to despising the people who had no spare bedroom to retreat to. My new piece is about that mirror, the one held up in 2020 that nobody wanted to look into. Karmelo Anthony claims he cannot afford a lawyer for his appeal. According to his appeal, Karmelo is, “too poor to employ counsel to represent me…” Karmelo raised $625,000 for his legal battle, but some of those funds were used to help his family “relocate” after allegedly facing threats. Karmelo’s family moved into luxurious gated community that reportedly costs roughly $900,000, according to the NYP.

Business owners, one of the most effective ways to build employee loyalty is to never take your team members for granted. Thank them often, and let them know how much you appreciate their hard work. Make it clear that they can reach out to you anytime, especially during a family emergency. Small acts of support and appreciation can create a level of loyalty that money alone cannot buy.

If you wanted to lower the fertility rate how would you do it? You would give all the jobs to women and then not hire the men. Men then wont have the money to be providers that can support a family. Since women only marry men who make more than them fewer people will get married. Women will then spend all their time working rather than having a family.

The passing of Thiru Bharathiraja Ji is very saddening. He was a towering figure of the cinema world whose works transformed Tamil cinema. Particularly noteworthy was his portrayal of rural life. My thoughts are with his family and admirers in this hour of grief. Om Shanti.

.@Ford issued a safety recall for my vehicle 11 months ago with no remedy available. Almost a year later, there is still no remedy available for this Ford Recall Campaign. My vehicle could catch on fire anytime I’m driving it, resulting in a crash causing injury or death to me and my family. I’ve reported this to @WestVirginiaAG and @NHTSAgov and I’m consulting with an attorney. How long should an open safety recall be legally allowed to last? We are especially thankful that the jury saw the truth and delivered justice with clarity and courage, guided by the outstanding work of the wonderful Brian Panish. As you might imagine, our hearts remain broken and no verdict can ease the pain of losing our two sweet boys. It is a profoundly sad day when a jury is forced to place a dollar value on the lives of our children. We understand this verdict will be appealed and that it may be years before any money is ever collected, if at all. What matters most to us now is that the perpetrators are finally beginning to show signs of accepting accountability, and that through this trial, many more people have had the chance to meet Mark and Jacob — to learn who they truly were and the light they brought into this world.
