Microsoft is adding new ways to control the floating Copilot button in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint after users backlash
The button, called the Copilot Dynamic Action Button, can now be moved by right-clicking it and choosing “Move to ribbon.” This places it in the ribbon or Quick Access Toolbar at the top of the app instead of floating over the document.
Microsoft has also improved the Dock feature. Pinning the button to the side of the window now keeps it there for the entire document session instead of returning to its original position.
These changes come after users backlash saying the floating button sometimes covered important content.
The updates will roll out soon for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on the web, Windows, and Mac.
