With all the talk on hard wallet saftey, I'll share my own experience
My hardware wallet didn't get hacked. It just stopped working. Nearly cost me everything in it.
I had BTC in an old Trezor, multi-sig setup. Ran a firmware update. Afterward I couldn't sign transactions anymore.
The only thing that saved me was having the seed written down somewhere else.
Ledger has a different failure mode. The screens on old Nanos fade over time.
No readable screen means you can't enter your PIN and no access to the device.
Neither of these is a hack. The hardware just stops cooperating.
That's the part you don't plan for.
So know that you could also be at risk of losing your Bitcoin and crypto if you have it stored in old models of Trezor or Ledger wallets.
Make sure to keep your devices updated and double check that you have the seedphrase backed somewhere. I recommend multi-sig also for security.

Thick black ash coated roof terraces in the north of Madrid's center, the Spanish capital, where 70,000 people were evacuated as residents were forced to keep their windows closed by the smell of throat-irritating smoke.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez visited the fire zone near Madrid and said the priority was to "save lives" while warning that a "complex" fight lay ahead. His government declared a national emergency.
Fires have burned more than 320,000 acres of forest already this year in Spain, up from an annual average of more than 240,000 acres over the past decade, Sanchez said. He said more favorable weather on Saturday offered "a window of opportunity" for fire crews to bring the blazes under control.
