There was no adventure too big for Charles Gaines. He climbed mountains, trekked across ice, fished, and hunted on almost every continent, writing about every adventure in a way that captured people’s hearts and minds. He was interested in everything - and his interest was contagious. I’m lucky that he was always looking for new frontiers, because that’s how he found me and our niche sport of bodybuilding. That’s how the book and the movie Pumping Iron launched me into the mainstream - he wrote that book and then worked relentlessly on the documentary and introduced bodybuilding to millions and millions of people. It’s how I broke into Hollywood with my first big role in Stay Hungry - a movie Charles also wrote. Most importantly, it’s how I became lifelong friends with Charles. You hear me say it over and over: I’m not a self-made man. Today, I honor the amazing life of one of the people who helped make me who I am. Charles left us today, but he’s not gone. I can still hear his voice. “Hey Oak!” - always followed by some unbelievable insight or philosophy, always giving us the greatest gift: making us think. No, he isn’t gone. He lives on in his unbelievable family, and I n all of the lives he touched. He’s just off on his next adventure.

LENNY COOKE Born on April 29, 1982 in Atlantic City, New Jersey where he attended middle school. The family later moved to the Bushwick section of Brooklyn New York. Cooke's parents struggled to find employment, and the family lived in poor conditions. However he was fast developing into an extraordinary basketball player, which helped to smooth the jagged reality of the poverty that had engulfed him and his family. Cooke, had grown to be 6 ft 4 by the 8th grade, and entered Franklin K. Lane High School in Brooklyn. He had difficulties in the classroom and failed the 9th grade. Transferring to La Salle Academy in Manhattan from 1999 to 2000 he repeated 9th grade. Finally Cooke was eligible to play as a sophomore and was an all-city selection, averaging 20 points and 11 rebounds a game, in his first season of organized basketball at the age of 16! His development went rapidly averagng 25 points and 10 rebounds during his junior year and remarkably was ranked higher than LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony as a high school baller in 2001. His skills expanded further as he averaged 31.5 points for the first eight games of his senior year. However, when he turned 19 in 2001, he was declared academically ineligible to play! Cooke's complicated basketball and life journey are not easy to follow. In the summer of 2000, Cooke earned Underclassmen MVP honors at the Adidas ABCD Camp and was 2nd leading scorer in the Rucker League in Harlem playing among professional players like Stephon Marbury, Ray Allen, Zach Randolph and Omar Cook. Cooke next appeared at Mott Adult High School in Flint, Michigan, working on his equivalency diploma, but confined to playing pickup games and tournaments. Still, at the end of the 2001–02 school year, Cooke had multiple options because of his elite basketball skills: North Carolina, Seton Hall, St. John's, Miami and Ohio State. A dozen NBA teams considered him and at least three guaranteed they would take him in the 1st round if he were available. He chose to skip college and declare eligibility for the 2002 NBA draft, ending his chances to play college basketball. Bad luck ensued when all 29 NBA teams passed on Cooke in both rounds of the draft. Cooke's complicated life and basketball career is the subject of the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival documentary film "Lenny Cooke" by the Safdie Brothers.

#プロンプト# ビリヤードしたくなる写真 以下にプロンプトを書いたので ぜひ使ってみてください Prompt: Generate a 16:9 horizontal photorealistic image with a film-like, CCD flash snapshot aesthetic. If a reference image is provided, use the woman in the reference image as the identity reference and prioritize preserving her facial identity, very small face-to-body ratio, fashion-model proportions, long legs, high waist, slim waistline, body silhouette, and overall impression. If no reference image is provided, generate an original fictional adult Japanese woman in her early 20s, clearly adult, with a very small face, long legs, a high waist, a slim but feminine fashion-model figure, long black hair, fair skin, and a refined natural beauty. The setting is a slightly old Japanese billiards hall that feels like it was built around the late Showa to early Heisei era. The place should look modest, worn, and nostalgic, with an everyday atmosphere: aged walls, old chairs, scoreboards, signs, dim indoor lighting, and the slightly gritty charm of an old neighborhood pool hall. Show the woman playing billiards, captured from a side view. She is leaning forward seriously while aiming at a ball with a cue stick, focused and concentrated. The image should feel like a real candid moment rather than a studio portrait. Her outfit: a white tight ribbed tank top loose silhouette indigo-blue denim jeans, worn low on the hips the waistband of her Calvin Klein underwear is intentionally visible above the jeans as a natural styling element, clearly readable as a visible waistband rather than something that is only accidentally showing simple silver accessories such as a necklace, bracelet, and rings well-done nails Composition and pose: keep the image horizontal 16:9 capture her from the side, showing her body extended over the pool table emphasize her small face, long legs, high waist, and model-like proportions make the cueing posture believable and natural her expression should be serious and focused the scene should feel like a documentary-style flash snapshot, not a polished commercial fashion shoot Visual style: photorealistic film-like texture CCD flash look slightly harsh direct flash, mild grain, natural imperfections nostalgic Japanese retro indoor atmosphere Important: The visible Calvin Klein waistband should look like an intentional styling choice Preserve a strong sense of realism, candidness, and everyday atmosphere Avoid making it look like a glamour studio portrait The woman must look clearly adult
