Specs: - 12GB GDDR6 VRAM - 192-bit memory bus - 3,072 stream processors - 48 Compute Units - Up to 2.79 GHz boost clock - 220W power draw - $549 MSRP The main issue is that the card comes with 12GB of VRAM instead of the 16GB on the standard RX 9070. Another problem is that the RX 9070 GRE launches at $549, the same price as the standard RX 9070. Since the RX 9070 has more VRAM and stronger specs, the standard model could be the better deal if the price gap is small.

IO Interactive’s new James Bond game, 007 First Light, has already passed 70,000 concurrent players on Steam, no idea on the numbers on other platforms. Most gamers are clearly enjoying it too, as the game currently holds a 92% Very Positive rating on Steam. The game has had some complaints about implementing Denuvo days before launch and being a “journo” game. Personally, I’ve been playing it this week and it’s a great single-player game that gave me Uncharted feels. I posted the other day about the car section that plays “itself” but it’s just a small part. The driving in the game feels good so far.

Former Destiny boss Mark Noseworthy thinks the new Witcher 3 DLC is a great idea, especially with The Witcher 4 on the horizon. Sharing his thoughts on the announcement, Noseworthy said: “Gets the Witcher (game brand) in the current gamer discussion and grows the audience for W4. Microsoft says its recent Xbox Game Pass price cut is already showing positive results. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma said the lower prices are “helping move Xbox in the right direction.” In April 2026, Microsoft reduced Game Pass Ultimate from $29.99 to $22.99 per month and PC Game Pass from $16.49 to $13.99 per month. Microsoft made the changes to attract more users and make Game Pass more affordable after many gamers complained about earlier price increases. However, a big change is that new Call of Duty games will no longer come to Game Pass on day one. Players may need to wait about a year after release before those games are added.

Huge win for gamers and consumer rights! The California State Assembly just passed AB 1921, the Protect Our Games Act. It passed on the floor by a vote of 43 to 16. The bill would force video game companies to give players a heads-up before they shut down the servers for a game. It would also make them provide a way for people to keep playing afterward, like adding offline mode or letting community servers take over. Quick recap of what the bill does: >60-day advance notice before any server shutdown or major service change that would make a game unplayable in its “ordinary use.” >Companies must then provide a workable solution so players can keep playing, usually an offline mode/patch, community server support, or (in some cases) a full refund. >Applies to digital games first sold or substantially re-released in California after January 1, 2027. >Does not affect subscription games, free-to-play titles, or games that are already permanently offline/single-player. >Enforceable by the Attorney General or district attorneys. In short: If you buy a game, you should still be able to play it even after the company moves on. No more “purchase” turning into a rental that expires when the servers die.

The criticism got even bigger because IO Interactive talked for years about how important the driving mechanics were for the Bond experience.
