Professor Ting Chuen PONG, Vice-President (Administration & Business) of HKUST(GZ), welcomed Newcastle University's Professor Stephanie Glendinning, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Faculty of Science, Agriculture and Engineering, and Professor Stuart Edwards, Dean of Global & Education Development in the Faculty of Science, to the HKUST(GZ) campus on Sept 28. This marked Newcastle University's second visit to HKUST(GZ), following the visit of Professor Chris DAY, Vice-Chancellor and President, in November 2025. Professor PONG introduced the University's distinctive academic structure, commitment to innovation-driven education, and the construction of the second phase of the campus. The delegation also toured the Brilliant Energy Science and Technology Lab and held themed seminars with young professors from the University, covering smart manufacturing, AI & data science, and sustainability. The visit strengthened the partnership between Newcastle University and HKUST(GZ), providing a valuable platform for both universities to exchange insights and explore shared research priorities.
