The LGBTQ+ community are already attacking (again) the indie low-fantasy action RPG Knight’s Path after they revealed their character Amelie a healer who is one of three romance options in the game.
One user replied: “Seems like ur just making trad wife porn for right wingers.”
The developers responded directly that “it’s just a kind woman in a modest dress and is not trad wife porn. It is just a normal human character.” And that she is not real
The Expanse: Osiris Reborn Male Hero Is Being Recast Due to Player Backlash
Owlcat Games will change the voice actor for the male main character and his twin sibling J in The Expanse: Osiris Reborn.
The game is a story-driven action RPG similar to Mass Effect with full voice acting for the player character. Many beta players said the male voice sounded flat and lacked emotion, and did not fit the tough Belter mercenary role. The female voice was received much better.
The developers said: “While the voice actor for the male protagonist and J put in a lot of good work, they felt less expressive than we wanted. Because of this, we are changing the voices of the male protagonist and J.”
This shows the team is listening to players.
Remedy Entertainment’s creative director Mikael Kasurinen has confirmed that the studio always planned for Control to become an RPG franchise.
The idea originated during the Quantum Break era.
They used the original 2019 game Control as a testing ground introducing dialogue choices, ability upgrades, side quests, and exploration mechanics typical of RPGs. Marketed as an action-adventure title, it laid the foundation for a full RPG series.
The upcoming sequel, Control: Resonant, lwill expand on this vision. It is being developed as a proper action-RPG with talent trees, character builds, and deeper progression systems, while preserving the horror and paranormal atmosphere of the Oldest House.
