If AI large-model talent in China is looking for domestic career opportunities, WeChat is actually worth considering. Not many people know that the WeChat team also has its own large model, WeLM, which is closed-source and has already iterated to version V4. At this stage, joining established, scaled large-model teams is the more conventional choice. But there are also people who choose to join WeChat’s relatively small-scale large-model effort, which is somewhat like trying to bottom-fish in the stock market—of course, it still depends on individual judgment and ability to evaluate the situation. Revisit this post in three months.

This is really big news. Google introduced the Open Knowledge Format (OKF) - a standardized way to store information in a directory of markdown files. Makes it really easy to make a digital brain that agents can use. These files can serve as a living wiki. You can give agents the ability to query them or edit them. They can interlink. Seems to me this could replace Notion or Obsidian. I can think of so many uses for this. Google's blog post: An easier to understand explanation is the SPEC.md file: I gave those two links to Antigravity and asked how we could use it for any of the projects we're working on. It came up with so many ideas. I would imagine Claude Fable 5 would whip up some pretty amazing things based on this system. Currently creating an OKF library of our pepper garden. It's going to be a fun weekend.

The Falcon 1 is small potatoes now, but reporting on its development is really what got me hooked on @SpaceX. Loved the tales of a bunch of 20 somethings stuck on Kwajalein Atoll trying to make a rocket fly. The company ended up being one tiny error on the fourth launch from going out of business, but it somehow launched and survived. Am still so amused by @elonmusk reading rocket books post PayPal and now getting to this point. Seems just about impossible. Is a shame there has not been a movie made about these times. Hollywood kinda hates Elon and doesn't want to see it made, but it's the ultimate next chapter to The Right Stuff.

I'm seeing a lot of fake information about a potential deal to reopen the Strait and end Iran's nuclear weapons program. First, the Iranians are not receiving any cash, and no funds are being released for simply signing a deal or attending a meeting. The deal is structured to ensure that the US and its allies concerns are prioritized, and that if the Islamic Republic of Iran meets its obligations, then economic benefits will flow to them and to the entire region. This deal has the potential to remake the region and lead to lasting peace. I've noticed a couple of bizarre things in the reporting over the last few hours. First, people who (rightly) said Donald Trump was a historic president a month ago now criticizing a deal based on unconfirmed media reports. Second, people who say you can't trust a word said by the IRGC who apparently believe anonymously sourced social media posts. The president is going to get us a good outcome, one way or the other.

A post-90s Henan Opera actress's portrayal of Mu Guiying has gone viral — how does she make the Henan dialect sound so charming and sweet? #Henan# #HenanOpera# #MuGuiying#
🇨🇳🚨✍️📍Modi sarkar should learn directly from China on how to conduct massive, mega competitive national exams!! Just look closely at the way how Gaokao, the giant Chinese equivalent of JEE and NEET, was flawlessly executed now. In a prominent post on X, the Chinese embassy officer Yu Jing, broke down how 1.3 crore students completed the two-day exam under what was described as an all-out, nationwide effort. Gaokao, the world's largest exam & India's JEE/NEET rolled into one, was run smoothly for 13 mn candidates in 2 days. Factories paused operations. Roads completely quieted down. The entire nation rallied hard for its students, showcasing an unmatched scale of discipline and foolproof planning. 🏛️🎓

OpenAI uncovered a China-linked campaign that tried to turn Americans against AI data centers by posing as regular people online. The posts focused on rising electricity demand, water use, and the impact of large data centers on local communities. OpenAI investigator Ben Nimmo said the campaign was “jumping onto the bandwagon of a genuine pre-existing domestic debate” rather than creating a new issue. According to OpenAI, the operation tried to “exploit and amplify existing public concerns” but showed little sign of impact. Nimmo said, “We didn’t see any signs that they succeeded.”

@Shilllin One of the most important lessons of product management: What your users say they want is often very different what they actually want The author of the post above is in the top 1% of React-with-Video users. Since making that post, his volume has only accelerated.
