Résultat : plus personne n’a vraiment envie de transmettre la vie. Pourquoi faire des enfants dans un monde qu’on a déjà décidé de haïr ? Il faut un hard reset. Un nouveau projet de civilisation clair : former des polymathes généralistes, récompenser la créativité et l’envie de construire des choses dans le réel, remettre le travail et la création technologique au centre comme un jeu exaltant où on s’impressionne les uns les autres. Pas le profit pour le profit. Pas l’apprentissage comme une corvée. Mais une ode assumée à l’avenir, au positivisme, à l’optimisme constructeur. Parce que tant qu’on n’aura pas remplacé le logiciel de la mort lente par un logiciel de construction, la courbe démographique ne fera que confirmer ce que Musk dit : la civilisation disparaîtra. Le 21e siècle appartiendra à ceux qui auront le courage de vouloir encore le futur.

Another massive new construction project underway at Giga Texas, this time on the very far W of the site across FM973 & near the Tesla Rd intersection. It looks like some of this is to move the rental equipment lot further away to allow a new graded area for a new construction project. What this is is still uncertain, but I do know changes in plans & permits have been underway as the entire Giga Texas site is seeing wide scale massive construction projects that are literally transforming what the overall campus visually looks like. We may hear more about all these projects at the 2nd Qtr Financial Results meeting on Wednesday … certainly the cash flow and Capital expenditures will be a topic of discussion, but you will already know all about that via the coverage of Giga Texas construction! 😎

Another awesome robotics company raised funds in Europe. 🇪🇺 This time a company that is shipping robots that build! @BuildMonumental has raised $32M Series B led by Khosla Ventures, and its fleet of autonomous bricklaying robots has already built more than 100 real structures across Europe. Houses. A school. A community centre. A hotel. Canal walls. Founded by @salar al Khafaji and Sebastiaan Visser, the co-founders of data visualisation firm Silk, acquired by Palantir in 2016, this is a team that knows how to build and sell a company. The technology is serious: → Fleet of 100+ electric autonomous robots operating on live job sites today → Advanced sensors, computer vision and small cranes laying brick to millimetre precision → All driven by Atrium, their proprietary AI software platform → Nearly half of all homes built in the last three months alone, pace is compounding fast The business model is also worth taking a look at. Contractors don't buy the robots. They hire Monumental as an autonomous subcontractor and pay for finished wall. So in the end you only pay for the output. This is the same forward-deployed engineering model Palantir pioneered in software. Monumental brought it to physical robotics years before anyone else in the industry caught on. The backdrop makes this urgent. US construction is short 200,000-400,000 workers every month. Since 1945, US manufacturing productivity rose eightfold.
