POV: When you're broke but still trying to make a romance movie.

As a gay man watching Pride Month 2026 crank the culture wars to eleven…
Pride flags = love & acceptance. Trump flags = ugly and about a criminal narcissist (said that yesterday). But when did flying one automatically make the other side the enemy?
I defended the Pride flag because it signals support. Cool. But the second it turns into a loyalty test — “affirm every new letter or you’re the bigot” — that’s not acceptance anymore. That’s the new mandatory flag worship.
My response? Writing the MM romance I actually want to read: hot bears, summer flings, real gay guys being guys. Zero lectures, zero rainbow mandates.
Spring Flings & Summer Things is LIVE on KU — free prequel The Timber Wolf included. Because when the news gets too fictional, my books keep it real.
Poll: Has Pride become a loyalty test more than a celebration?
A) Yes — affirm everything or you’re out
B) No — still pure love & acceptance
C) It’s just corporate rainbow capitalism now
D) Other (reply and tell me)
