I've gotten some questions related to whether my song "Thursday Night At Johnnys" by Steven E and the Chagrin Valley Rockers is based on real events or a figment of my imagination. Johnny's Downtown is a real restaurant and Mike Petrone has played piano in the bar for over thirty years! Yes, he really refuses to play True Companion by Marc Cohn, but loves I'll Be Walking In Memphis. All the lyrics are real characters who often frequent the bar on Thursday nights. I've been going there on occasional Thursday nights since I moved to Cleveland in 1995. Here's the story about Mike recently pubished in the Cleveland Plain Dealer and my song that's also available on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and all the other music platforms. It was on my Thursday Night At Johnny's album.
