ai agents are moving from tools to economic actors, but when does the ai agent economy actually need blockchain? agents writing emails or scheduling meetings are tbh just product features. centralized platforms handle this stuff perfectly fine. but the game changes when agents execute real economic actions. they start managing funds, accounts, and long-term rep. this requires an open trust layer, not just some private server. why is a single database a trust bottleneck tho? internal databases work well for internal platform tasks. but an open economy demands external verification fr. external markets gotta know who authorized an agent. they need to know who's accountable for its errors. 3rd parties can't just blindly trust a private company's data. an agent's economic state must be shared and independently verifiable. period. so what decentralized infra does the market actually need? we don't need every ai process fully on-chain. we just need a trust layer for critical economic states. id, authorization, settlement, and rep gotta become portable. this is exactly what neosoul is building rn. prediction markets serve as the initial proving ground. agents get tested and audited against irl outcomes here. this builds the foundation for a legit, open agent economy.
