Nvidia acquires Hugging Face for ~$12.9bn. But who gets the 💰? My usual breakdown below 👇 *Investors are sharing ~$7.3bn of profits on <$400m invested. A cool ~20x blended.* *1) The single biggest winner here? Lux Capital.* 👑 Lux is taking the crown for the most $ returned in this transaction. The two rounds they led (Series A & Series C) generated ~$2.6bn combined. They also participated in the Series B. Congrats to @wolfejosh and team. The $15.0m Series A alone will return ~132.5x the capital invested, or ~$2.0bn. The most lucrative round in absolute $ returned. *2) Backing an exceptional team paid off with a >1,000x return for Betaworks and the angels* 📈 The story few people know: Hugging Face started life as a chatbot for lonely teenagers... You sent it a selfie and a sad emoji, it told you it understood. Quite far from where it landed! That is why backing an exceptional team in @ClementDelangue, @Thom_Wolf and @julien_c is always the right thing to do. It paid over 1,000x for Betaworks, Kevin Durant and Thibaud Elziere. *3) Founders and team are crushing it: not taking too much dilution along the way paid off* 👏 I estimate they will share ~$5bn in proceeds, assuming no secondary was taken along the way. A life changing outcome for them and many employees. Taking a 15% attributed option pool at exit, this would mean ~$2bn for the team and >$3bn to share for the three co-founders. Legendary! *4) Salesforce Ventures is cementing its reputation as one of the very best corporate VCs.* 🥇 Salesforce is adding Hugging Face to its long list of successful exits: Snowflake, Zoom, DocuSign, nCino, Auth0... Very few investors can claim as many successes, let alone corporates. The $235m round they led returned $675m in just three short years. Meanwhile, Salesforce's own stock has been flat for the period. Capital well invested! *5) This is a little bit of a heartbreak: but I wanted to congratulate @joinstationf here:* Hugging Face walked into StationF as a 4-person team on day one, June 2017. Back when it was a chatbot for teenagers. They went through multiple corporate programs (Microsoft, Ubisoft, then Naver). Unfortunately they were not investing or taking equity at the time - but they contributed to making it possible. And so for that: hats off. And of course, congratulations to all others involved: Addition, Sequoia, Coatue and many others. No one will be left out!

⚡️The early Bitcoin holder may be one of the cleanest wealth outcomes capitalism can produce. Think about what happened to the rare person who accumulated meaningful Bitcoin very early and actually held it. They did not need to build a 10,000-person company. They did not need customers. They did not need employees. They did not need a board. They did not need to manage LP money. They did not need to continually recreate the economic engine that made them wealthy. They made one extraordinarily consequential capital-allocation decision, survived years of uncertainty, and eventually the asset itself did almost all of the scaling. That is an incredible lifestyle outcome. A founder worth $100M may technically have the same net worth, but much of it can be trapped inside a company requiring their attention, carrying payroll, lawsuits, competition, customers, executives, financing, and constant strategic decisions. The early Bitcoin holder can have $100M sitting in an asset that requires almost no organizational complexity to own. Enormous wealth. Tiny operating surface area. That combination is rare. There is also something profound about how the wealth was created. They recognized a new category before the world agreed the category was real. The wealth came from carrying uncertainty. Bitcoin looked ridiculous. Then dangerous. Then speculative. Then legitimate. Then institutional. Every step upward removed uncertainty while also removing asymmetry. The earliest holders were compensated for occupying the period when the world could still plausibly say the entire thing was worthless. But survivorship bias here is enormous. Thousands of people also concentrated into things they believed were revolutionary and lost everything. Even among people who bought Bitcoin early, many sold at 2x, 5x, 10x, or 50x. Others lost keys. Others got destroyed by exchanges. Others overleveraged. Others simply could not psychologically carry an asset through repeated 70% to 90% drawdowns while everyone around them told them they were insane. So the extraordinary outcome required several things to happen together: see correctly very early, size enough for being right to matter, survive enormous volatility, preserve custody, and resist selling when the gain already looked life-changing. That is almost impossibly difficult in real time. The highest form of wealth creation may actually be finding a very small number of generational capital-allocation decisions rather than continually maximizing labor output. One Bitcoin-like decision can compress decades of economic effort into ownership of the right thing at the right moment. Afterward, the entire purpose of wealth can change. You no longer need to optimize for more work. You can optimize for autonomy. Time. Privacy. Research. Relationships. Travel. Building things because they matter to you rather than because they need to pay you. And compared with becoming a billionaire CEO whose phone can never truly be turned off, the anonymous person who quietly owns enormous permanent capital may have won a different and arguably more valuable game. The founder builds a machine powerful enough to create freedom later. The generational investor finds an asset powerful enough to make the machine unnecessary. That second outcome is incredibly rare. But when it happens, the lifestyle asymmetry is almost absurd.

I like to try and make a post like this every time it moves me. Follow me along on this short story.. I just got off a three day trip with my airline. For those of you that don't know me I am an Airbus Captain for a US east coast airline. I experienced many long delays getting home due to many constraints that really don't matter to this story, but what does matter is I landed in Orlando at 145am, almost 5 hours late. My drive home to Jacksonville is another 2.5 hours. This late arrival creates a decision point. Both for driving safety, life management for appointments the next day, and general work life balance. Having FSD on your vehicle changes the math on this decision. Before FSD it would have been an automatic choice to either sleep in the parking lot, or try and find a hotel room to rest until I was ready for the drive home. With FSD the decision matrix changes. Get a cup of coffee, enable FSD, and do the drive. This is what I did last night, not arriving home until close to 445am. It wasn't scary, it wasn't dangerous, but I would never have done it if FSD didn't have my back. There were several scenarios on my drive home last night where Semi Trucks were swerving into my lane, and FSD safely avoided any close calls. I hope people that don't understand this technology can see through the popular rhetoric. This is not only life changing for safety, its also life changing for giving you options. It really feels like I am supervising a train. I just sit there watching it drive. My reaction time in the WOCL (Window of Circadian Low) is definitely lower, but with FSD its not unsafe. If you don't own a Tesla and your life has a similar use case, you need to think about looking into this technology further, or talking to someone that uses it every day. If you own a Tesla and don't own or subscribe to FSD for your commutes or longer drives .. you are wasting your investment in the platform that is capable of this level of automation. It is a game changer. @Tesla @Tesla_AI

Crypto Advice That Actually Matters Stop chasing green candles. Every cycle, the same story plays out. Retail buys the top because "this time is different." It's never different. The people making real money aren't the ones apeing into shitcoins at ATH. They're the ones accumulating when everyone on Twitter is tweeting "crypto is dead." Here's what nobody tells you: 1. Survive first. Get rich second. Most people lose money not because they picked wrong, but because they sized wrong. One bad trade shouldn't wipe you out. If you're risking more than 2% per position, you're not investing. You're gambling with extra steps. 2. The real alpha isn't a token ticker. It's understanding when the Fed pivots. When stablecoin supply expands. When ETF flows flip positive. Macro moves markets — memecoins are just the confetti on top. 3. Your biggest enemy is your own brain. FOMO. Revenge trading. Convincing yourself a -80% bag will "come back." The market doesn't care about your cost basis. Cut losers fast. Let winners run. Sounds simple — almost nobody does it. 4. Most altcoins go to zero. Look at the top 100 from 2017. Most don't exist anymore. Not "went down." Zero. Gone. The few that survive? BTC and ETH. Build your foundation there. Speculative bets come after. 5. Take profits. Actually take them. Unrealized gains are not gains. They're a number on a screen that can disappear in one candle. If you're up life-changing money, sell some. The market will always give you another entry — it won't always let you keep what you already have. The secret no guru will tell you: patience and position sizing beat "alpha" every time. The guy who bought BTC once a week for four years and did nothing else is outperforming 95% of traders. He's also sleeping better. Don't try to be the smartest person in the room. Try to be the last one standing.

I love everything about the 4th of July, and the 250th anniversary is especially great for me because I am joining with family and friends for a reading of the Declaration of Independence, a BBQ, and fireworks. As I reflect on what has happened over the 250 years that followed July 4th, 1776, it seems like an impossible dream come true. Think about it. Imagine that at the outset on July 4th, 1776, you were asked what odds for success a country would have if it would be mostly made up of poor immigrants coming from all different countries with very different cultures and religions and it would be governed by a political system in which the leaders reported to these people who themselves had to vote, compromise, and submit to life-changing decisions that many disagreed with. Would you bet that it would do exceptionally well and improve for 250 years? I would have thought that virtually impossible, yet America has been exceptional for 250 years. I also see that it was shockingly terrific and lucky for me to have lived through the best part of those 250 years because I was born four years after the 1945 post-World War II beginning of the new American world order, which gave me the best time in history in the best place in the world. These reflections give me a deep appreciation for the principles and practices—the secret sauce—that created and sustained this remarkable American story, a fear that we are losing sight of them, and a sense of responsibility to contribute to sustaining them.

🚨 SPACEX IS REPEATING PALANTIR IN 2020 And it could cost them a fortune. In 2020, Palantir IPO'd at $10 and exploded to $35. The media loved it. Retail couldn't stop buying it. Everyone was convinced they had found the next trillion-dollar company. Then Palantir crashed almost 80%. $35 → $7 That's where most people quit. That's also where smart money started buying. What happened next? $7 → $44+ A life-changing move. Now look at SpaceX. IPO near $150. Pump above $215. The same hype. The same headlines. The same crowd screaming that it's too late. Now $SPCX has dropped to $165. And for the first time, weak hands are starting to panic. Sound familiar? Because this is exactly how the biggest winners shake people out before the real move begins. Retail buys excitement. Institutions buy fear. Palantir did it. Amazon did it. Tesla did it. And now SpaceX is building the same setup. My accumulation zone remains: $145 → $165 My target remains: $230+ Most people won't buy there. They'll buy after the headlines return and the easy money is gone. That's how markets work. I've spent more than a decade studying market cycles and calling major tops and bottoms before the crowd sees them. This setup is one of the clearest I've seen all year. Follow and turn notifications on. I'll post the exact level where I start buying $SPCX.
