Thought of the day: It might look like the wild wild east in China for music atm but nothing is set in stone. It is an opportunity to set new standards. There's no need to see it as an obstacle. #Matters18# #MusicMatters#

Alot of time assigned to the emerging music markets in China at #Matters18# #MusicMatters#. However, more attention given to how international acts can break into China, less attention given to C-Pop itself. Alot about penetrating, not much about exporting. #CPopMatters# too.

If new productive forces are to meet China’s official growth goals, they must be felt beyond the industries that hog the headlines. Size is not all that matters. Scope counts for something, too

Fable is too expensive and loop happy. Finally time to switch my Openclaw to the company Codex API. I’ll miss your load-bearing, self-affirming personality because I think it matters.
AI coding didn’t just help me build MacMater faster. It helped me notice the small frictions people live with every day. On macOS, there still isn’t a simple native way to right-click in Finder and instantly open a file or folder with the app you actually want. There also isn’t a clean built-in way to right-click and create a new file from your own templates. So people install one app for Finder tweaks. Another for clipboard history. Another for mouse gestures. Another for input switching. But ordinary people shouldn’t need a folder full of tiny utilities just to make their computer feel right. That became the idea behind MacMater: an all-in-one native Mac utility that brings these daily improvements together. Open with your favorite apps. Create new files from templates. Switch input methods automatically. Make your mouse feel better. Bring back anything you copied. AI wasn’t a magic button. It was more like a patient teammate. It helped me unfold ideas, question tradeoffs, rewrite messy thoughts, and keep asking: “Is this actually useful to a real person?” The biggest lesson: AI coding does not remove human judgment. It demands more of it. You still have to know what matters. You still have to say no. You still have to choose simplicity over cleverness. In the end, the best technology disappears. What remains is a small moment: someone opens their Mac, does their work, and feels like the machine finally understands them a little better.

Statement from Karim and Nancy Iskander: To all of you who have loved us, Mark, and Jacob, and who have stood by our family from the very beginning — we are deeply grateful. Today we thank you, and we thank the jury for delivering the punitive damages verdict today and , along with the previous wrongful death verdict. We are especially thankful that the jury saw the truth and delivered justice with clarity and courage, guided by the outstanding work of the wonderful Brian Panish. As you might imagine, our hearts remain broken and no verdict can ease the pain of losing our two sweet boys. It is a profoundly sad day when a jury is forced to place a dollar value on the lives of our children. We understand this verdict will be appealed and that it may be years before any money is ever collected, if at all. What matters most to us now is that the perpetrators are finally beginning to show signs of accepting accountability, and that through this trial, many more people have had the chance to meet Mark and Jacob — to learn who they truly were and the light they brought into this world. Sleep tight Mark and Jacob. We love you.

Brazil and China are moving forward to deepen their partnership in space-related matters by progressing with the construction of the Joint Radio Astronomy Technology Laboratory. The project involves the participation of a state-owned defense company known as the China Electronics Technology Group Corporation. The two nations are also advancing the construction of South America’s largest radio telescope, known as “BINGO.” But China is not an innocent space explorer, but rather a dangerous adversary seeking to improve military capabilities in the U.S. area of influence.

One aspect of @AntarcticWallet that deserves more attention is its focus on usability at scale. A lot of crypto products are designed for individual transactions. The real challenge begins when communities, businesses, and growing teams need to manage hundreds of users, payments, and interactions efficiently. That's where strong infrastructure matters. The most valuable tools are often not the ones with the longest feature lists, but the ones that simplify complex processes behind the scenes. Reducing operational friction, improving transaction management, and creating a smoother experience for users can have a significant impact over time. As digital finance continues to mature, platforms that prioritize practical utility and operational efficiency will likely play an increasingly important role. That's one of the reasons I'm interested in following the development of @AntarcticWallet.

🚨 BMW HAS SOLVED ONE OF HYDROGEN’S BIGGEST PACKAGING PROBLEMS. The company has developed a new “Hydrogen Flat Storage” system for the iX5 that uses seven slim hydrogen tanks instead of two large ones. This flat design fits into the same space as the high-voltage battery pack used in the electric iX5. This is significant because it allows BMW to build the hydrogen-powered iX5 on the same production line as petrol, diesel, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric versions without major changes to the factory or vehicle architecture. The system stores 7kg of hydrogen at 700 bar and gives the iX5 an estimated range of 385 miles. BMW plans to start series production of the iX5 Hydrogen in 2028, using a fuel cell developed in partnership with Toyota. Why this matters: • One of the biggest barriers to hydrogen vehicles has been packaging the tanks without sacrificing interior space or requiring completely separate production lines • This modular “flat storage” approach makes hydrogen powertrains much more practical to manufacture at scale • It gives BMW flexibility to produce multiple powertrains on one platform depending on demand and regional infrastructure The deeper implication: While battery electric vehicles currently dominate, BMW is continuing to develop hydrogen as a parallel technology, particularly for larger vehicles and longer-range applications. Being able to build both BEVs and FCEVs on the same line is a pragmatic engineering step that could make hydrogen vehicles more commercially viable in the future if the refuelling infrastructure catches up. Follow for more frontier automotive and energy technology.
