🚨 do you understand what happened at the Xbox Showcase.. The show ended and most people thought that was it. Then Sharma and Booty walked back on stage and told every fan in the room they were going home with the new Xbox Series X25 - free. The catch: it only applied to badges marked FAN, not press. - the console was revealed minutes earlier and still has no announced public price - the room erupted so loud the clip is already going viral - Sharma dropped it with one line - "how about those exclusives?" - the same night Xbox confirmed Gears of War E-Day is a true console exclusive, no PlayStation port New leadership, new rules. Xbox is done pretending the console war is over.

🚨 CHINA DROPPED A DIGITAL IRON CURTAIN AROUND ITS AI. As of June 1, China built a wall to stop tech from leaving. New rules now classify AI algorithms, source code, and training data as protected trade secrets. Hacking, scraping, an engineer walking out with the weights, all illegal now. Fines up to ¥5M. China is doubling down on the AI race with the US. I update on all of this.

Sweden has approved a new law allowing police to use AI-powered facial recognition in real time for serious crimes. The government aims to tackle rising gang violence and organized crime by providing police with faster, more advanced tools. Under the new rules, the Swedish Police Authority can use AI facial recognition to: >Find victims of kidnapping, trafficking, or exploitation >Prevent imminent serious violent crimes >Identify suspects in crimes punishable by at least four years in prison >Locate convicted criminals evading sentences Police normally need approval from a prosecutor or court, though emergency use is allowed first.

Arc System Works creators ofGuilty Gear Strive just added two new rules to protect their workers from bad online behavior: the Customer Harassment Response Policy and the Social Media Policy. These rules started because of strong anger from players. In the April 2.00 game update, there was a problem with the character Happy Chaos Some went too far and made personal attacks on the developers. The company says honest feedback is fine, but it is not okay to threaten, insult, intimidate, or harm workers in any way. If someone breaks these rules, Arc System Works can suspend the player’s game account, report them on social media platforms, or in serious cases take legal action or call the police to keep their staff safe.

Kickstarter has changed its rules about adult and mature content. The platform states: “Kickstarter is not a venue for adult-only or sexually explicit content and such content is prohibited.” The new rules ban projects made mainly for sexual pleasure. >They prohibit porn or any material that shows or suggests sex acts, including masturbation. >They also ban images showing female nipples, private parts, or the area between the buttocks, as well as implied nudity through lingerie, tight clothing, or see-through outfits. >Sex toys designed to go inside the body are banned if sold mostly for sexual use, and content showing violent, forced, or harmful sex is not allowed. Some things remain okay with limits: Kickstarter allows “Romance/‘spicy’ literature, including comic books,” if all images follow the rules. Simple acts like kissing or cuddling are fine. Non-sexual nudity is permitted only in educational, scientific, or school projects. Items like lubricants or underwear can be funded if not mainly for sexual use. Creators cannot avoid the rules with cropped, blurred, or misleading images.

Europe is preparing new rules that would limit Microsoft, Amazon, and Google from handling certain sensitive government data in the public sector. Under the upcoming Tech Sovereignty Package, EU member states would be required to use “sovereign cloud infrastructure” for the highest-sensitivity categories: health records, financial data, and judicial or legal documents. Private companies and non-sensitive government workloads can continue using Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud. The restrictions apply only to public-sector handling of the most critical data. The main reason is long-standing concern over the U.S. CLOUD Act, which allows American authorities to compel U.S. companies to turn over data even data stored in Europe. European officials see this as a risk to strategic autonomy and data control. The move builds on years of EU efforts around digital sovereignty, including the EU Cybersecurity Certification Scheme for Cloud Services. It aims to reduce dependence on non-European technology for critical public infrastructure. Implementation would still require approval from EU member states and is likely to involve hybrid models with greater European oversight or local partners. Details may evolve when the full proposal is released later this month.

AUSTRALIA COULD SCRAP 50% CRYPTO TAX DISCOUNT IN BIGGEST CAPITAL GAINS OVERHAUL IN YEARS The Australian government is set to release its 2027 budget on Tuesday. It will reportedly scrap the 50% capital gains tax discount for Australian crypto investors who hold assets longer than 12 months. Per reports, a full inflation-indexed tax on real gains would replace it. That could double the effective tax rate on long-term holdings from around 23.5% to nearly 47%, per the Australian Financial Review. The change would hit crypto, shares, and commercial property alike. Assets bought before May 10 get partial exemption. New rules take full effect in July 2027, with a one-year grace period for assets acquired after that date.
