Kaku v0.8.0 Fish 🐟 is out. A fast, out-of-the-box terminal built for AI coding, now with better shell integration and a more stable daily workflow. This release adds full Fish shell support via kaku init, including Starship prompt, Yazi launcher, theme sync, and a clean conf.d entrypoint. Background tabs now show a bell indicator when tasks finish, with optional Dock badge support so you don’t lose track of long-running jobs. Kaku also remembers your last working directory when opening new tabs or windows, making sessions feel continuous. kaku update and kaku doctor now run in dedicated tabs instead of blocking your current work. We also added a tab_title_basename_only option to simplify tab titles, fixed scrollback issues like viewport jumping during rapid output and glitches with Claude Code, and shipped a range of bug fixes and polish across window behavior, links, clipboard, SSH, and macOS stability.
