This morning, Reagan Institute's @RogerZakheim joined @Morning_Joe to break down the new Reagan Institute Summer Survey — and the warning signs beneath the broad bipartisan support.
"61% of Americans want America to lead in the world" — built on President Reagan-era principles of peace through strength, advancing democracy, and global economic engagement.
What the survey found:
🔹 8 in 10 Americans back U.S. global leadership
🔹 NATO support is north of 60%
🔹 Young MAGA voters support NATO to the tune of 70%, cutting against the isolationist narrative
🔹 On Iran, MAGA voters preferred regime change or a weakened regime over a negotiated deal — while Democrats favored a negotiated settlement
