Here's what nobody tells you about crypto: it's lonely.
I've been at this for years, through a few cycles now, and for most of that time the only real conversations I had were online. Discords, crypto Twitter, a few curated telegram groups. The intellectual connection was there, but it never left the screen. And I was surrounded by people trying to shill their NFT or their coin or their trading system, people who didn't care about the tech or the future it could unlock. So I retreated into the cave and traded knowledge with strangers I'd never actually sat across from.
That started to really bug me.
Then someone I met in the Solana ecosystem told me to check out a
@SuperteamAE event. First one was a pizza meetup in Dubai after the summer lull.
The vibe was electric. Good conversations, jokes, people who understood the thought patterns running in my head.
I didn't have to explain myself. It fit like a glove, fast.
That's what Superteam UAE changed.
It took the conversations that had only ever lived online and brought them into the physical world.
Real events, real people, and a network that kept growing every time we sat down together.
So I kept showing up. Every meetup. Positive-sum every time.
You talk about what you're building, someone gives you real feedback, no egos in the way.
I wanted in, but it's a vouching system and I'm not one to campaign for myself.
So I just kept attending, rigorously, for the better part of a year.
Eventually I reached out to
@afscott to ask if I could join and start adding value. A couple hours later: "you're in."
Turns out a lot of people I already knew were members and had vouched for me themselves.
So I'm humbled to be named member of the month, and I can't wait to see what the future holds.
Here's to everyone ive met along the way, thank you especially to
@SolanaSpacesAE @InnaK2305 and
@NidhiShroff28 for always listening to my rants 🫡
One thing's for sure: Superteam will still be here to support its members, and I'll always be here contributing to that vision.
