Starlink will help Anderson County first responders stay connected during emergencies. • Anderson County EMA is upgrading its emergency fleet with Starlink satellite terminals. • Starlink will automatically take over if storms, floods, outages, or damaged cell towers disrupt local networks. • Responders can stream live drone video, access maps, use incident software, and send field data in real time. • Vehicles will create localized high-speed Wi-Fi at emergency scenes. • New tri-band radios support VHF, UHF, and 700/800 MHz, including Tennessee’s TACN network. • The system helps local, state, and federal agencies coordinate during major emergencies. • EMA Director Joe Mead said real-time communication helps deploy resources and protect lives.
