President Xi stressed that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the China‑Russia strategic partnership of coordination. Over the past three decades, the China‑Russia relationship has been growing in stature and now stands at the highest level in history as a comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for the new era, setting a prime example of a new type of major‑country relationship. This year also marks the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good‑Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation Between China and Russia. Over the years, the two countries have always adhered to the treaty’s established principle of non‑alliance, non‑confrontation and not targeting any third party, and stayed committed to equality, mutual respect, good faith and win‑win cooperation, serving as a vital constant amid century‑defining changes sweeping across the world. China‑Russia relations have reached a new starting point. The two sides should follow the trend of the times toward peace, development, cooperation and mutual benefit, and strive for higher‑quality development of bilateral ties. First, we should build higher‑quality political mutual trust and give each other firm strategic support. The two sides should further strengthen mutual support on issues concerning each other’s core interests and major concerns. Second, we should empower higher‑quality mutually beneficial cooperation and jointly advance our two countries’ development and revitalization. The two sides should deepen the synergy between China’s 15th Five‑Year Plan for economic and social development and Russia’s development strategy through 2030. Third, we should promote higher‑quality people‑to‑people connectivity and strengthen the foundation of lasting friendship between the two nations. President Putin and I have decided to hold the tenth national theme year, namely the China‑Russia Years of Education, this year and next. Fourth, we should pursue higher‑quality international coordination to reform and improve global governance. As permanent members of the U.N. Security Council, China and Russia must work steadfastly as responsible major countries, safeguard the authority of the U.N. and international fairness and justice, oppose all unilateral acts of bullying and attempts to reverse the course of history, and especially oppose all provocative acts that deny the outcomes of the victory of World War II and attempt to justify and revive fascism and militarism.

President Xi Jinping held small group talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. President Xi noted that the international situation is fluid and turbulent. Unilateralism and hegemonism are resurging, yet peace, development and cooperation remain the aspiration of the people and the prevailing trend of our times. As permanent members of the U.N. security council and important major countries in the world, China and Russia should take a strategic and long-term perspective, drive the development and revitalization of our respective countries through comprehensive strategic coordination of even higher quality, and work to make the global governance system more just and equitable.

President Xi Jinping pointed out in his meeting with U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer @Keir_Starmer that unilateralism, protectionism and power politics are running rampant. The international order is under great strain. International law can be truly effective only when all countries abide by it. Major countries in particular should set an example, otherwise the world will revert to the law of the jungle. Both China and the U.K. support multilateralism and free trade. We should jointly advocate and practice true multilateralism, make the global governance system more just and equitable, and work to build an equal and orderly multipolar world and a universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization.

President Xi Jinping and French President Emmanuel Macron @EmmanuelMacron jointly met the press after their talks. As agreed by the two presidents, the two sides will commit to working in the following four areas. 1⃣ Strengthening political mutual trust. The two sides will understand and support each other on matters involving each other’s core interests and major concerns. 2⃣ Expanding practical cooperation. The two sides will facilitate balanced development of bilateral economic and trade relations, expand two-way investment, and provide a fair, transparent, nondiscriminatory and predictable business environment for companies of the two countries. 3⃣ Promoting cultural and people-to-people exchanges. The two sides will have a new round of cooperation on giant panda protection. 4⃣ Furthering the reform and improvement of global governance. The two sides will strengthen strategic communication and collaboration, uphold the international system with the U.N. at its core and the international order underpinned by international law, and work for a more just and equitable global governance system.
