This year also marks the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good‑Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation Between China and Russia. Over the years, the two countries have always adhered to the treaty’s established principle of non‑alliance, non‑confrontation and not targeting any third party, and stayed committed to equality, mutual respect, good faith and win‑win cooperation, serving as a vital constant amid century‑defining changes sweeping across the world. China‑Russia relations have reached a new starting point. The two sides should follow the trend of the times toward peace, development, cooperation and mutual benefit, and strive for higher‑quality development of bilateral ties. First, we should build higher‑quality political mutual trust and give each other firm strategic support. The two sides should further strengthen mutual support on issues concerning each other’s core interests and major concerns. Second, we should empower higher‑quality mutually beneficial cooperation and jointly advance our two countries’ development and revitalization. Unilateralism and hegemonism are resurging, yet peace, development and cooperation remain the aspiration of the people and the prevailing trend of our times. As permanent members of the U.N. security council and important major countries in the world, China and Russia should take a strategic and long-term perspective, drive the development and revitalization of our respective countries through comprehensive strategic coordination of even higher quality, and work to make the global governance system more just and equitable.

FM Wang Yi: To date, we have granted unilateral visa exemption to 50 countries and made mutual visa-free entry arrangements with 29 countries. Last year, as many as 73 percent of visitors came visa-free. Going forward, we will continue to refine cross-border travel policies, further leverage the benefits of visa-free entry, and upgrade support services. The goal is to both make it more convenient and comfortable for foreigners to travel and live in China, and make it safer and smoother for Chinese citizens to travel abroad.
