This robot doesn't walk. It grows. 🤖
Meet FiloBot, a vine-inspired robot developed by researchers at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT).
Instead of using wheels or legs, FiloBot can extend its body by 3D-printing new material as it moves, allowing it to navigate tight and hard-to-reach spaces.
Potential applications include:
🔹 Search & rescue
🔹 Environmental monitoring
🔹 Confined-space inspection
🔹 Archaeological exploration
What if future robots could explore by growing instead of walking? 👀
