“As kids, many of us were taught to fear sharks. Movies, television, and headlines made them out to be ruthless predators lurking beneath the surface.
Then I met them.
What I found were some of the most peaceful, curious, and misunderstood animals I've ever had the privilege of being in the presence of. Sharks aren't the monsters we grew up fearing. They're an essential part of a healthy ocean and a reminder that wild places still exist.
This Shark Week, maybe it's time we stopped being afraid of the wrong things.” 🦈
