Those of us who grew up watching the Yankees of past decades can’t help but feel completely frustrated watching this current team. Jazz, McMahon, Wells, Caballero, Volpe, Grisham, Rosario, and Domínguez could all play for other MLB teams, but being everyday starters for the Yankees—the flagship franchise and global standard of baseball—is a completely different level. The defensive mistakes and the offensive complacency are unacceptable. Somehow, hitting .200 has become normal. I don’t believe this roster—or the organization’s current mindset—is capable of bringing another championship anytime soon.
