Relegating Man City would actually let them off lightly. My punishment: -35 points for their next FIVE Premier League seasons. And no Champions League qualification during that period, by any route. The punishment is fixed. The consequences aren't. Get 100 points? Congratulations, you've got 65. Enjoy the Europa League. Have a normal City season? You're finishing mid-table. Have a bad one? You're in a relegation fight. Here's the best bit, if they DO get relegated, the clock stops. They don't get to spend a year battering Championship teams, come straight back up and call the punishment served. They return to the Premier League and the -35 is sitting there waiting for them. After a couple of years without title races or Champions League football, maybe players leave. Maybe recruitment gets harder. Maybe maintaining a '90-point team' gets harder too. Five Premier League seasons. No title race. No Champions League. No easy reset. Just £1bn worth of squad fighting for 10th. Beautiful. #MCFC#
