Divers descend beneath the waters off Italy's coast to give the famous Christ of the Abyss statue its annual deep clean.
The 2.5-meter bronze monument has stood on the seabed near San Fruttuoso since 1954, honoring those who lost their lives at sea and symbolizing the sacrifices of World War II.
This year, specialized diving teams use pressurized hoses instead of wire brushes to protect the statue's bronze surface while removing years of marine buildup.
