President Trump is warning Iran that attacks on commercial shipping will come with a financial price.
In a new statement, Trump says any damage to ships or cargo linked to Iran will be paid for using frozen Iranian assets under U.S. control.
Former National Security Council Senior Director Michael Allen says the move is intended to increase pressure on Tehran and make clear that targeting vessels in the Strait of Hormuz "is not a cost-free exercise" for Iran.
