“When you give these kids access and give them the opportunity, they can do great things.” MLB Together and Phillies Charities announced an expansion and renovation project with Tree House Books in North Philadelphia. Tree House Books is a giving library and literacy center that builds literacy skills and inspires a lifelong love of reading and writing from early childhood through high school and beyond. The new space includes an expanded children’s library named in honor of Phillies legend Ryan Howard, a vibrant new teen center in honor of Hall of Famer and Philadelphia native Roy Campanella, plus cozy reading nooks and expanded tutoring areas dedicated to North Philly local and Hall of Fame sportswriter Claire Smith.
