Good news for AI builders: the File Search tool in the Gemini API is now multi-modal 🗃️, powered by our Gemini Embedding 2 model, + support for custom metadata & inline citations : )
File Search comes with storage and embedding generation at query time free of charge!

Today we are rolling out edit mode in AI Studio Vibe Coding ✏️, select components to quickly edit them, annotate right on the UI with a pen, and select image assets to change them with Nano Banana + upload content!

And earlier today we rolled out a ton of error message improvements so that the Interactions API (our unified interface to interact with models & agents) has much more human and agent readable error messages!
