Since the Lazarus attack in February 2025, Bybit has been working on recovery from every possible angle. Today, we took another step forward. Bybit has filed a civil lawsuit against the DPRK and the Lazarus Group, and secured a preliminary injunction freezing identified stolen assets while the case moves forward. So far, we have recovered about $48.4M, with another $30.5M frozen across more than 28 exchanges and custodians. This has taken a lot of cooperation across exchanges, blockchain analytics firms, custodians and law enforcement agencies . The attack was against Bybit, but the problem is much bigger than Bybit. Cybercrime is a threat to the entire crypto industry. We will keep working with everyone who can help trace, freeze and recover stolen assets and we’ll keep using every lawful tool available.
