This hit me hard. South African asylum seeker
@Jason2bartlett told me what he loves most about America after fleeing horrific violence against white citizens:
“I bought my first house ever, and I don't have a ten-foot fence around it. I mean, I understand that there's crime, but those places have got a big blue mark on it, like a big Democratic city… But in Alabama over here, everybody carries, so everybody is safe. If you go to the general store, nothing has got fences around it or bulletproof fencing around it. My wife goes for a walk. You see women walking around. You don't see that in South Africa. You see children playing out in the front yards. That's not possible in South Africa anymore, especially if you look like me... It's unfathomable how fun and awesome it is just to feel safe.”
