Bernie Sanders sent letters to Altman, Amodei and Zuckerberg. He says: stop building machines humans can't control, or the Senate will make you.
Is anyone pausing? No.
But Sanders didn't invent a standard. He's quoting their own safety promises back at them — and 1,200 lab employees are saying roughly the same thing.
That's the story. Not the letter.
