why are tokenized stocks on @base a big deal? - written on my walk to work this am - over the last 3 years, we've built an incredible amount of powerful financial infrastructure. trillions of dollars of stablecoins like @USDC moved. hundreds of billions traded via venues like @aerodrome and @uniswap. billions of dollars of borrowing and lending via protocols like @Morpho and @aave. it's honestly kind of mind bending: things that used to take days (or months!), require countless human processes, and cost thousands of dollars now can be done instantly, 24/7/365, globally, and basically for free. this infrastructure is insanely powerful and getting moreso by the day. and we've done all this with basically only crypto native assets. these assets are incredible: digital gold like BTC, oil like ETH, protocol tokens, memecoins, and so many more make up trillions of dollars of value. but at the same time, they are still a very small part of the global financial system. with the entrance of stocks, we can now apply that same infrastructure to the largest and most important asset class in the world. this will bring in trillions of dollars more of value to build with. and also give a direct comparison to show how much better we can do than the legacy system. 24/7 trading. instant loans against your stocks. yield generation. and all of it available to everyone in the world, not just a select few. this is an inflection point. we can now just outright build better products than legacy finance, with the same assets. and we can make them available to billions of people around the world who've never had a chance before. and there's no better place for it to happen than @base. we have an EVM environment that is fast, trusted, and increasingly special purpose for finance - trading, borrow/lend, and payments. and we have the world's best builders making the applications on top that make this all possible. time to build.

nice to see @base cruising at 550 TPS the chain can now burst up to 5K TPS, with a bunch more headroom coming in the months ahead now that we're on our own stack post-Azul team has been doing an incredible job scaling
