The hardest part about hiring great leaders for X is that you need someone who can be an outstanding voice on the platform -- but also someone who is exceptional at trench warfare (i.e., sweating the details of the user experience and handling the daily chaos & creativity of bad actors).

Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to pass the torch and demote myself to my natural state: a poster. I'll be stepping back from leading product for 𝕏 and will continue on as an advisor. Serving the X community has been the privilege of a lifetime. X is, and will remain, the most important communication technology in history. But running this app is a 24/7 job and it's now time for me to take a breather. The app is seeing unprecedented growth in new users & engagement. We continue to break records every month. We've climbed 70 spots in the App Store since this time last year. And in the last 400 days, we rebuilt almost every aspect of X: the Timeline, the Android app, onboarding, notifications, chat and more. We also launched nearly 30 new products while protecting the integrity of the town square: becoming the first app to show Country-of-Origin on profiles and mounting defenses against AI bots. There's certainly much more work to be done, but our foundation is stronger than ever. None of this would have been possible without the incredible team here. The next leaders will take X to even greater heights with @benjitaylor on design, @singhai on core product engineering and @dinkin_flickaa on mobile engineering -- among many other great people. There are a few spammers on X that have been pivoting their strategy for the last 6 months. One of the them (“This guy is a great trader ⬇️”) has pivoted a total of 40 times after each method has been blocked. Some of the techniques are so creative and fast that it feels like they’re sitting right next to us. At this point, we might as well hire them because they are just as familiar with the X codebase as us.

We found 42,000 accounts automating replies using chatbots and have removed them from the platform. X's core value is providing an authentic pulse on humanity -- and using AI to programmatically engage with users without a human in the loop runs counter to our mission.

Today we're announcing the completion of one of the largest engineering projects in the company's history: We rebuilt the X Android app from scratch It's faster, smoother and more reliable. But most of all: it will enable us to build new features at lightning speed.

Some updates on the creator rev share program: 1. Soliciting engagements (“I’ll follow everyone who replies”) 3 or more times will results in removal from the program and your account will be forwarded to the policy team for suspension. Grok now catches all of these. Nearly 4000 accounts were removed from the program today. 2. Our new model now detects duplicated content at 3x the rate of the previous model. Adding watermarks, intros and other edits will send monetized impressions to the original uploader. This also includes copying viral text posts (most common one: “Twitter is like the smoking section of the internet”). We detected 1.5 million posts that were stolen this cycle. Repeated or intentional circumvention will lead to removal from the program. With these changes, over $1 million will be given back to original content creators.

@vibhu There are a few user groups that misused Following as a way to promote their accounts (See: Crypto) with no intent to actually engage with or read the account’s content. Their Timelines are now destroyed beyond all recognition.

We're rolling out a small tweak to boost visibility of your posts to your mutuals (people who you follow back). We noticed this data was missing from the algo and it made your friends appear less in your replies. This resulted in the reply section feeling more like a battleground with people you don't recognize. This should also help clusters form around interests more easily, which many people have asked for.

I’m going to answer this claim that “X is turning into TikTok” one time only: • Posts containing videos already make up close to half the impressions on X • Many videos from top accounts are simply stolen from other users, sometimes 5 years after they originally went viral. • Our team believes this recycled content has a negative impact on the user experience and the business. • For the first time, we are providing a functional video editor so some videos on X can finally be original content that doesn’t exist on other platforms If you are a creator that does not recycle other people’s content, you have the biggest arbitrage opportunity of your career to build an audience here. The algorithm may take time to recognize you, but when it does, you will climb faster than other account on this app.
