भारत-रोमानिया संबंधों का सबसे महत्वपूर्ण आधार, हमारे लोगों के बीच आत्मीय संबंध हैं। यह देखकर मुझे प्रसन्नता है कि भारतीय प्रवासी समुदाय एकजुट होकर रोमानिया में भारत की सांस्कृतिक विरासत को जीवंत बनाए हुए है।

President Droupadi Murmu met President of the Senate of Romania H.E. Mr Mircea Abrudean and President of the Chamber of Deputies of Romania H.E. Mr Sorin Grindeanu at the Parliament Palace in Bucharest. She also interacted with members of the India-Romania Parliamentary Friendship Group. Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Smt. Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya, and Members of Parliament Dr. Dinesh Sharma and Shri Vijay Baghel were also present on the occasion. The President said that as vibrant parliamentary democracies, the two countries should deepen engagement between our parliamentary institutions. Such interactions would provide valuable opportunities to share experiences and best practices, and would contribute to further strengthening the India–Romania partnership.

India's globally recognised Digital Public Infrastructure, thriving start-up ecosystem and leadership in information technology can complement Romania's strengths in software engineering, cyber-security, research and advanced technologies.

Our vision of "Viksit Bharat 2047" aims to transform India into a developed nation by the centenary of our Independence. This journey presents immense opportunities for international partnerships, investment and technology collaboration.

Romania, with its strategic location at the crossroads of Europe, highly skilled human resources, advanced industrial capabilities and strong integration with the European Union, remains a natural and valuable partner for India. Romania serves not only as an important destination for investment but also as a gateway to the wider European market.

President Droupadi Murmu was warmly received by President Nicușor Dan of Romania at Cotroceni Palace, Bucharest. She was accorded a ceremonial welcome and guard of honour. The two leaders held productive and forward-looking discussions covering the major dimensions of our bilateral partnership. They also exchanged perspectives on regional and global developments, and on multilateral cooperation. Three MoUs for bilateral cooperation in the field of science & technology, sports and establishment of Chair of Indian Studies at University of Bucharest were signed on the occasion.

President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Bucharest, Romania on the last leg of her three-nation State visit. She was warmly received by Ms Oana-Silvia Țoiu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania at the airport.
