With its nationwide release approaching on June 18, the hit film Dear You has attracted growing attention among Malaysia's Chinese community.
Ong Tee Keat, President of the Belt and Road Initiative Caucus for Asia Pacific and former Minister of Transport of Malaysia, praised the film's portrayal of dedication, kindness and integrity as enduring values passed down through generations of overseas Chinese families. He also urged the public not to over-politicize these cultural memories, noting that behind Qiaopi and the film lies a timeless story of family affection, nostalgia, and the enduring bond between overseas Chinese and their ancestral homeland.
