Fantia has reversed its new content restrictions after only 10 days. After consulting legal authorities, the company returned to its previous rules and apologized for the confusion and panic caused by the announcement.
However, many creators had already spent days censoring their work, removing content, and permanently deleting parts of their portfolios to comply. In many cases, those changes cannot be undone.
As a result, many artists and fans in the anime and Japanese art community feel trust in the platform has been seriously damaged.
Creators are now considering leaving Fantia.
