Wednesday at Nanjing's Jingfeng 景枫 was all about helping stray animals.🐈⬛💗TNR education, charity sales, and even a themed pop-up cafe — and yes, lots of humans, furry kids, and mosquitoes.😂Someone even brought their adopted stray cat along to run a booth.🥹
There was this kid at the "cat balls" wall:

• social media traffic exceeding roughly $14 billion USD in exposure value
• generating billions of RMB in local revenue — worth several billion USD
Then came 2026 Opening Ceremony:

🏎️ 40 electric kart racers circling the stadium
🚁 2,026 drones lighting up the night sky
📱 Nearly 91.2 million total media impressions
And this is only one province. China has many leagues and local sports ecosystems like this.
So the question becomes practical, not emotional:
why spend $250–300 million USD on FIFA broadcasting rights, when around 70% of matches air between 2am and 9am Beijing time, and the Chinese men’s team isn’t even in the tournament?
What exactly can FIFA still offer Chinese audiences that local sports culture increasingly cannot?🤔

Shanghai’s urban management success is hidden in the details.👇🏻✨
At Zhenping Road 镇坪路 Metro Station, where Lines 3, 4 and 7 meet, the transfer area even has mist sprays to keep commuters cool in summer. 🌫️☀️The only thing that felt unfinished was the bare concrete floor.
Last week, workers started upgrading it with tiles — section by section, WITHOUT disrupting passenger flow. Five days later, it’s almost complete. The new floor blends seamlessly, and even the construction fence includes the project team, contact details, and a clear completion date. Responsible attitude.
This is what a city that cares looks like.👏

NATURAL JUSTICE: Who needs a court house? In rural China, judges travel to remote villages and set up “chambers” anywhere to resolve disputes.
This meadow by a lake appears to be in Yunnan province. The banner officially declares that the circle of attendees constitute the county's “circuit judges court”.
In the west, the idea of having “circuit” (from “circling around”) judges was popularized from the UK from about the 1400s onwards. Ordinary people had no freedom to leave their “demesne” (domain). To seek justice, they would have to wait until a circuit judge visited the area.
Today, in big cities, Chinese court systems have set up officially recognised internet access so that people living far away don’t need to physically attend court hearings.
