Lara Trump says Democrats have decided “nowhere is off limits” in their opposition to President Trump, arguing the rhetoric has fueled escalating political violence: “You know, it has seemed for a long time that, for the Democrats, all in the name of being anti-Trump, the ends justify the means, no matter how crazy or how dangerous it has gotten. We all remember it started with, ‘If you see Republicans or anyone from this administration at a gas station, you get up in their face. You push back on them.’ And that was just the beginning of all of this. They have decided that basically nowhere is off limits. It’s why we’ve seen such an escalation in violence against law enforcement. It’s why we saw federal buildings burned to the ground and small businesses destroyed during the mostly peaceful protests. You’ve had assassins target Supreme Court justices. And, as you just said, our president has nearly been murdered three, maybe four times now. This is who this party is.”

Gov. Greg Abbott announces a statewide crackdown on birth tourism, saying Texas will investigate, prosecute, and shut down operations tied to the practice: “I issued an executive order today ordering all state agencies to crack down on any allegation of birth tourism, which is where people come from other countries into our country for the purpose of having a child born here so that child receives United States citizenship. What I ordered is for every state agency to investigate those claims and, where they are found, make sure those operations are shut down. We can even impose what I call the death penalty on a business, which is revoking its certification or license to do business in the state. In addition to that, we are working with the United States Department of Justice. The Department of Justice has ordered U.S. attorneys to be aggressive in prosecuting these cases. We will work with our very aggressive U.S. attorneys in Texas to make sure that any claim or allegation of birth tourism in Texas is fully prosecuted and completely eliminated from the state.”

Stephen Miller says President Trump is the first president in decades willing to confront Iran’s nuclear threat head-on, vowing to do “whatever it takes” to stop it: “When it comes to the president’s strategy against Iran, he’s made it clear that he will consider and pursue any and every option necessary to achieve America’s objective of ending the Iranian nuclear threat once and for all. Sean, perhaps more than anyone else, you’ve covered how for 47 years this regime has operated with bloody impunity. They murdered Americans. They tortured dissidents. They engaged in proxy terrorism across the region and around the globe. And, of course, they’re responsible for the roadside bombs that left so many of our bravest mortally wounded and terribly disfigured. Everyone wanted to push this problem aside. President Trump is the only American president who has had the courage, the foresight, and the willingness to confront this threat head-on and say, ‘We’re not going to shove it aside. We’re not going to let this threat continue until one morning we wake up and Iran has a nuclear weapon with the capacity to use it against American citizens.’ We’re going to deal with this. We’re going to do it now. And we’re going to do whatever it takes.”

Sen. Eric Schmitt says President Trump achieved what many thought was impossible, crippling Iran’s military and nuclear capabilities while creating an opening for diplomacy: “President Trump was very clear from the beginning about the mission here, which was to ensure that Iran would never have a nuclear weapon. They no longer have the ability to do that, and now they’re signing on the dotted line, for the first time, that they won’t pursue it. And we don’t need to trust them—we just need to verify it. The president effectively knocked out their military capability. Their navy is at the bottom of the sea. They have no air defense. Their nuclear program is in shambles and nowhere near being restarted. And if necessary, we can always go back and mow the lawn because we’ve got eyes on it. What the president has done is create space for diplomacy, which has always been his North Star. There’s still more work to do, and we need to verify all of this, but he has accomplished something that most experts six months ago would have said was impossible. I think it’s a good outcome for the American people.”
